Anyone here have the 8' Bush Hog model 3008 field mower?  I'm thinking about selling the JD MX8 before it gets too many hours on it. About the same money as JD, Landpride RCR3596 is a little more. Blade tip speed is fastest on the BH, slowest on the LP.

Here in Montana we have to many fires, so brush hogs don't sell. LOL Going great in Montana, should of been here sooner.

Bought one about 10 years ago - pull it with the D17.  It's a really good machine and it cuts clean even in heavy stuff.

Sure will...the Deere dealer said I would be dissappointed with it compared to the MX. Guess we will see. Probably 3 weeks before I get it here.

Yes, we have one it's a model 3008-2. It's about three years old. That thing is heavy duty......will cut anything. Use it on the 6080. If the one you're buying is a 3008-2 be sure to specify that if you ever need parts.  When you get it check that the bolts in the cross shafts between the gear boxes are torqued to what the book says.  Ours must have been built on a friday. They forgot to tighten them.... we had to put in a new shaft and the rubber bushings between them.
If it ain't orange it ain't worth ownin'

My daughter bought one. The dealer did a poor job of putting it together. The bolts in the chain gaurds knocked chunks out of the blade, He didn't want to replace them, but finally did.
When we started mowing it made a lot of noise. They said it was normal. There was no oil in any of the gearboxes. We made them buy it back.
Good mower, bad dealer.
