How do you get the bands out of that small opening? Is there a pin in the bottom that has to be removed?

Yes there is. Do you have a torch, a welder, and a jack hammer? I hope yours is one of the easier ones. I welded a nut on the end of mine, then made a puller to get them to move. Some people just go in from the bottom of housing with a torch and cut em. Find new ones first. Not impossible. Good luck!

Been soaking one of mine in Kroil for 1 week now, scraping rust away from pin and forcing it in as best I can. Tried shooting Kroil from top down inside band cover, can't tell if that's hitting anywhere good or not.

Good idea to have your tetnus vaccination up to date. Mice love to camp in the brake houseings.Plenty of opportunity to bang a knuckle . Get a manual and good luck.

Ryan, if the brake bands were renewed every couple years it would be fine. They just designed a brake that was to good, so the pins can rust into place.
