Looking for a good used or NOS brake rod for a Series 4 D17, part number 237331, only need one, but might take a couple if someone has them.  Not sure how this one got broken, but the hook end is missing on the left one, Smile.

I broke one several years ago. You might want to look, my memory is bad, I think the left and right were different. But please check that out. Like I said memory is like burnt toast.

I wondered if they were different as well, checked my parts book, and according to that, they are the same.

They are still available from Agco, about $55 per rod.

The hook on the end is where they usually did break. You can cut it off a little run a 3/8" die up on the remaining rod 2 inches and get a 3/8" threaded yoke to screw on in place of the broken hook.

The way that the Dr. describes is better, stronger, and provides an easier way to adjust the brake.

Many thanks for all the replies, Gentlemen!  I hadn't checked with AGCO when I put this post up, was kind of a spur of the moment decision, and had originally thought of fixing it like the Good Doctor suggested.  I thought I'd check with you all on here before proceeding with that.  I did buy a 3/8" threaded hardware hook and threaded coupler, and that's how I'll go for now.  I can order a new rod if this doesn't work.  Thanks again, everyone!  Smile
