Close to a year and a half ago, my neighbor had brought us his father inlaw's D15 that he bought brand new in 1964. The tractor spent every day outside in the summer, but did get put in the barn in the winters. Fortunately, it spent the last 20 years in the barn untouched when the father inlaw's health was failing. Our neighbor wanted us to get it running and restore it "so it looked as good as yours" was the quote he told us.
Long story short, it didn't have any major problems luckily: replaced water pump, clutch, brakes, manifold, muffler, seat and lots of gaskets and seals. Rotten fenders had new metal welded in place. Both front rims needed replacing - yes, the front tires were loaded! One rear rim needed to have a patch welded in. Add in 4 new tires, complete wiring harness, new gauges, decals and lots of orange paint and this is how it turned out. It is being returned to the owner tomorrow.

Very well done, beautiful job. Looks better than factory with all the attention to detail. We did dads D15 series II about 8 years ago, so I know the amount of work you went through,,,and it shows. Again, great job. They are a good tractor for its size.

Myron , I am curious if the brake lock is the ratchet style or the solid triangle style? I have a 64 SerII 3pt and it has the ratchet style.

Pat, it has the old style triangle lock like the D14s had. My 66 has the ratchet style lock.

Don't trust them cam locks! Hadda d-14 roll down a slight hill, into an unused chicken coop, making a new entrance, that was desperately needed. Good thing I had just installed a push bumper, on it, earlier that day...

I was curious when Allis stopped using the triangle cam lock for the brake and went to ratchet style. Seems like most snap coupler tractors had the cam lock , but I have seen both on both styles of tractors. Have talked to people who worked for Allis back in the day and have been told they were inconsistent at best . They would start putting updated parts on units and then they would discover a crate of old parts and then they would go back and start putting the older stuff on until all the parts were used .
