It's in the operators manual. First the 2 solid clamps MUST be beside each other. Also 1 of the solid clamps MUST bet engaged in the drive lugs of the rim. Then the 2 eccentric clamps go on and get tightened up.
If you have a bent trim that won't tighten up this way, replace the 1 solid clamp that is NOT in the rim drive lug with an eccentric clamp.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |

I install the two solid clamps at 10 and 2 o'clock position.... have a jack under the drawbar area... roll the tire up to the hub and get the BUMPS lined up.. have the tractor/ clamps 1/2 inch lower than the rim/tire... roll/ tilt the rim/tire OVER the two clamps ... jack the tractor up and inch so the rim is HANGING on the two clamps... install the cams in the BOTTOM two positions... rotate the cams and tighten all.
no lifting at all........ easier than putting a 15 inch tire on a car. Edited by steve(ill) - 04 Sep 2020 at 9:35pm |

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

Thanks Steve
My memory returned before I read your how to post. The difference in my rims and clamps is NO BUMPS. My rims and clamps are the older, correct for 38 and 39 Bs, used between the very early split rims and the bump rims using the 5/8ths bolts. The clamps have feet that fit over short angles riveted to the rims . Looking real close, one of the angles is stamped with the word FIRESTONE. The bolts are 3/4. I bolted the plain bolt clamps at 10 and 2 at the top with the clamps on the inside and hung the rim on these two clamps. Next. I fit the eccentric clamps at the bottom and snugged everything up tight. I went thru lots of trouble cloning the Agggen Farm's first tractor. All I lack now is the long A&S blue hood decal. It looks just like all the pics Grandma took of the Allis B except for the tread pattern on the original rear tires. Thanks to Miller Tire I have a correct for early Bs single rib 5 by 15 fronts on riveted hub wheels. There is finally someplace to show off my 39B . Jefferson Texas is putting on a Tractors For Trump show this month on the 18th and 19th. Since this virus there are few and far between places to show or pull antique tractors |
