Up in Northern Missouri we got 10-14 inches of snow with nasty winds causing drifts from HELL! My property was a deep sea of snow with nowhere to push the snow to with my WD, heck got her stuck a couple of times. It sure was discouraging!!! This kind of condition proved to be too much for my tractor. Has anyone used a snow blower behind a WD before???

Be glad you have snow to push. My drive is ice, blade won't touch it, will have to live with it till mother nature removes.

I Have an International Model 70 blower on one of my WD 45s its a 78" blower hooked to the three point. works very well, even blowing plow packed edges of the road back. I need to use brakes for steering though since the front end comes up if you move foward. I got it stuck yesterday blowing the driveway back only the cab and muffler were above the snow. I was still moving but could not get back out of the ditch. My wife pulled me out .

My wd45 did pretty good. I went ahead and put on the tire chains before the snow hit.

I learned years ago the tire chains are a must on the WD or WD45. I put them on just ahead of the first snow and take them off in spring..

Look at the pictures I put up right after your post. I called it Blizzard 07 I think. Wd with a blower. Snow higher than the rear tires in spots. Works like a charm. Never be without it now.

Until a chain snags the fender and then its O****! Pa tore one off an unstyled WC back in '59 while hauling manure out in a spreader... Lucky some 4 year old wasn't sitten on it and hanging on that evening. Stay safe around chains.

I used this setup for abt 13 years ..2 sacks of hard crete on front..no chains...did 10 driveways in neighborhood under contract with it. Loaded tires...if slip a bit just raise blower a tad ..second pass clean it up. We averaged 120 to 200 inches of snow those years too. Those bank cutters were always working the last month of winter..often snow falling over top of blower even.
I've posted this before, I know but the question was asked. ![]() |

I bought it from the same guy I got the tractor from. Its from a garden tractor. just Angle iron welded between the front and back. I threw away the ripped vinal side doors and installed plexi windows. and filled from the window down with light steel. I just remove the tool box and 2 fenderbolts on each side disconnect one wire and lift it off. only takes 20 minutes to remove or install.

We were running 2 tractors with blades and one tractor and bucket trying to get the driveway and road cleared. It takes our grader operator days to show up sometimes. |

Please forgive me for this dumb question but do you back in to the snow with a snow blower on a tractor? I've never laid eyes on one. I was just looking at the pics and wondered. We have enough snow to use one this time but it's so stiff my bronco just rides on top.

Yup.You gotta turn sideways and drive backwards. You learn to pay attention to wind direction and chute direction but I still prefer it to a blade or bucket. It's MUCH quicker and you don't have huge piles next to your drive to catch the next snow storm. The down side is it throws rocks (or anything else) where ever you aim it.The wife don't like rocks in the yard....oh well!
