I have a new to me 175 Allis changed the fuel filters pumped them full of fuel but can't get it to start. I am sure it has air in the system cracked the fuel lines at the injectors and do have fuel there but not a lot. I figure air in the pump I see what looks like a bleed screw on the side of the pump but not sure. Some suggestions would be great. thanks

Do you have a helper?

Not sure the specifics about "some fuel at the injectors".  If you have someone that can crank for you, have the lines to all the injectors cracked.  Have them crank.  Do you still have fuel there or was that just originally there?  If its there and keeps sputtering, keep cranking, the first one will get steady, tighten the line, the second will get steady, tighten that line, and before you know it the engine will run.

If the cracked lines at the injector aren't getting any additional fuel, then you have more bleeding to do upstream.

Each filter has a bleeder screw.  Open the primary and prime until fuel comes out, then move to the secondary and repeat.  There is also one on the pump to open.  Once you have eliminated the air from these places, you should be good to go.  If not, loosen off at the injectors.

They can be tough. Do the one on top of the primary filter first till no air bubbles, then the little one on the bottom of the pump and then the little one above it. If it won't start after 30 seconds of cranking do it all over again.  It can also help to crack an injector line at the easiest injector to get to. I replaced the fuel pump with an electric one on one of my 175d's....that one is a snap to bleed!

They have a poor plumping. Air from pump goes right back to filter. Unhook return line from pump into a container. Plug line going back to filter. Pump primer until fuel runs clear of air. Don't connect return line until it is running. Will take some cranking because lines to injectors may be full of air. MACK
