I have a nice 7060 that the paint is getting chalky. I've never waxed anything before and I know I should be. How do I go about it?

Different waxes have different application procedures, also different levels of oxidation (chalking) have different prep procedures before wax or polish applications. Google and Utube are your friend here.

Is the paint original to the tractor? If so, you might be surprised how nice it will look again by using polishing compound with a buffing machine. If it's heavily oxidize then waxing alone probably won't do much.
I've buffed my 170 and 5050 that both had original paint and it sure did look better, but it takes time to get it done.

Yeah, if it were me, I would wash it to get it as perfectly clean as possible, then rubbing compound, then polishing compound.  You can do this by hand or machine.  Hand is a real workout, but works and has almost no chance to burn through paint like a machine.  After those steps, I'd wax it with a good paste wax.

Forget the wax. Get a bottle each of Mequires 105 and 205, start with 105 and finish with 205. You can do it by hand but that gets old real quick. Go to Harbor Freight and get one of the 4" orbital(not rotary) buffers and some pads. They also have the Mequires. When your done put some hand glaze on it instead of wax. Glaze won't yellow or turn white in the chips and scratches like wax does.

3M makes a gritty type of rubbing compound that I use with a buffer. I made a chalky 7060 look like a brand new tractor a few years back.   Have used it for many others as well.
