Buy the good stuff the first time and b done with it. Factory books. You'll be glad you did. To prove it to yourself, pick up an I&T for same unit and compare.

The parts manual can be very helpful on repairs as well.

The factory service manual, is much better than the I&T manual.

dont be fooled by those lay flat manuals with  a factory looking cover that are i t manual reprints .   if its cheap thats what you will get.     believe me we purchase many differant manufacturer manuals every year .   oem  manuals only , your agco dealer should also be able to print it for you for a cost

I bought a good original on ebay. Some of AGCO's are copied and not the best quality.

One step closer for you, here is a link to just the D17 manuals for all the series, you can chose the ones you want. Available in printed, as a download, or they will build custom media. There is a phone number in the upper right if you want to talk with a person about the manuals and order. And for the record, the AGCO prices are darn good for OEM manuals in my opinion; price some manuals from other OEMs.

As Joe just posted some manuals, if not most for older tractors, are copies no matter where you get them. At least the OEM should be starting with a clear copy. If your lucky you may find an original in good condition on eBay. I think this is true with most OEMs' manuals now.

given the option, a 'downloaded' version might be best as you can printoff copies of what you're working on and NOT get grease, oil, blood all over the original......

I agree with Jay and have been getting downloads of manuals for those same reasons. Print out the section I need and if it gets "gob", I can print a clean copy. If they stay usable I save them in a three ring binder in case needed again.
