Best paint for the money?

depends what kind of job you want.  I myself use alot of DuPont, or the cheaper line called Nason.  PPG or the cheaper line delstar.  9 times out of ten if someone is doing a show restoration they definatly will not bat an eye on the 200 to 600 in paint primer and supplies.  I look at it as look at all the work you put into it and then purchase the really cheap paint and the quality is not as good.  I really like the high quality paint also.  I have painted the tractors with a cheaper hershal adams paint that has worked out well.  It does not have the 100% true pop for the right color to me but it does look very nice.  Completely up to you.  If you want the best bang for the buck it is really hard to tell.  on a D15 the Nason paint from duPont looks really nice and it will save you a little from PPG.  I hope this helps if you need any paint codes let me know.  Thanks!

Im with Trev and have used omni single stage on several, have also used the cheaper van sickle and like the po1 they have but don't expect long life from it!!

where are you located in ON john?  I purchased my paint at Brown's in Chatham. They were very helpful and got me the product quality I was looking for at a good price for the application I was looking for. As I neither wanted a show car paint job or pay show car paint job price.  I got a good primer for bare metal painting. 

Brown's has a store in London as well, if you'd like a place to price compare and speak to the staff. I've Had good luck there. My request of them was similar to yours.

I just got back from Car Quest in Aylmer. They had four different paint codes. Three persian but it did not say 1 or 2. So out of the three that said persian we picked the middle one(seemed logical) it was almost $400 a gallon. I came home and did some research and of course I picked the wrong one it was the first one. 921090 SW #94866. It was $100 cheaper not as red. If the PPG is almost the same price I will go with the SW as I have primers reducers hardners etc.

Yes Trev I called the agco dealer in Tillsonburg and they quoted $85 a quart. They don't have it in gallon cans.

Get your PPG paint at Whitelaw's in Woodstock. I have two 20 year old paint jobs done in Urethane and they still look like they were painted a month ago. Like was said before. Cheap paint isn't cheap.  Painted a D-21 in PPG Concept 8 years ago and it will look fresh 20 years from now.
