depends upon need....
My Ryobi 18+ impact does a GREAT job with screws and little nuts but it's NOT designed to get wheel nuts off !

To be clear, my DeWalt is 18V 1/2" drive. It will remove the lug nuts on most wheels.

I've been happy with my DeWalt 12v drill motors that I'v had for many years. I've up dated to 20v drill, and wanted an impact to carry in our motor home, to use if we should have a flat tire. Have not used it yet, hope we don't need to.

It's not mine but I've used a Snap-On and I wouldn't buy anything else.  Lug nuts are nothing to that tool.  In fact, it will handle about anything you want to use it on.

I just bought a Harbor Freight 3/8 impact and so far has stood up better than the proceeding 2 3/8 air ratchets it replaced! There are videos on YouTube a guy posts that tears different makes of cordless impacts apart and compares. So far he rates Harbor Freight quite well if you buy their more expensive brand. I will try and find a link when I get more time.

I have a Craftsman that is as good or better than a air IR . So I don't know how much the brand of wrench matters. More a case of what the battery is capable of.Because the battery is the limiting factor in how much I get out of my impact.

So from other discussions on this subject Milwaukee would be my pick. The 18V fuel battery sounds very good,Wink but they better be for the price they want.

So if you have a brand of batteries you are happy with and are not ready to jump to another brand in all your tools get one that your existing batteries work in.

i have an 18v dewalt 1/2 drive and have no complaints.   lug nuts come right off.   if i had batteries for a dewalt; that's where i would start!

I had a craftsman before. It did ok but battery's died very quickly I though. A snap-on only about 600$ so iv ruled it out lol. Really dewalt and Milwaukee the two I was looking at. The dewalt x2 or something and a Milwaukee fuel to be exact.

I've got an 18V Dewalt 1/2 drive that has done an excellent job. A few months back I bought an Earthquake brand from HF, 18V 1/2 drive that is supposed to have 1200 ft. lbs. of torque but I have not had occasion to put it to a real test yet. If it works as advertised it should handle anything I need to do.

Probably would but only thing I have know is 12v dewalt impact driver and drill. One reason dewalt was top on the list to be just 12v they have really impressed me. I belive that they are stronger that the 18v craftsman I had

M18 Milwaukee will snap the crank bolt  off a Ford Titan engine.

 I told him to stop, but he kept going.
 He thought the bolt would stop turning.
 Doh, lucky he didn't strip the threads out.

I’ve got to put in another vote for Milwaukee. I’ve had one for probably 10 years and I cannot kill it. Still more powerful than my dad’s new DeWalt. I could not believe what I was paying when I bought it but it it has proved to be a good purchase.

Here's another vote for Milwaukee. Personally I have mostly Dewalt stuff, some Craftsman. At work they are converting to Milwaukee, I'm impressed. If I was going to buy a new one it would be red.

No first hand experience, but both sons, who use them daily, and pay for their own tools, say Milwaukee tops, with a long gap between them and anything else

I like my Milwaukee too, but when the batteries go,,,,,,,,you might just as well go buy a new set of tools.  The price is just about the same.....

Me, I'm MOST happy with my Rigid stuff!!  NOTHING beats their warranty!!  NOTHING!!

18-Volt Cordless Brushless 1/2 in. Impact Wrench (Tool-Only) with Belt Clip
4.8 out of 5  with (914) reviews.

It has;
    4-mode settings for matching power to the task
    Includes: Belt Hook with Screws
    Free parts and service for life with registration
$ 159 00

You register the tool AND the batteries.  Your battery goes kaput?  Guess what, because you registered them, you get BRAND NEW ones for FREE!!

Will Milwaukee or DeWalt do that??  I'm talking money here guys, LOTS of money.
I've only had mine set for a little over a year now, but I am VERY happy with them and they are FASTER than the Milwaukee that just sits now.  The only thing that I use all the time from my Milwaukee set is the grease gun.

I'm not a contractor, but darn near.  I built my pole barn and keep building stuff all the time.  I haven't had a bolt stop my Rigid yet.  Just broke off a 5/8" bolt that was rusted in.....
