I need a set of hub bearings and wheel bearings for a Farmall M with a Norden front axle. The axle serial number is 216_ , but I can't see anything after 216. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

We have taken it apart. The hub bearing had tin wrapped around the axle to make that bearing fit. The wheel bearing fit but cant find a number on the bearing for either the right or left side. Is it possible to measure the thickness of the axle as well as the width and height of the bearings and find replacements? What company would you suggest calling?
Thanks. |

I imagine it can be done, that way, but it may be easier to go over to the red power or smoke stack forums, and ask the question, there. You need some help from someone who has handled that particular problem, before...

I would say they are IH wheel bearings. Most after market front ends came without hubs and used the hubs from the tractor. MACK

Can be done with measurments but you should have a micrometer to get correct size. Napa can order going by size and I have done this but you need exact sizes.

IF you have a good bearing and race that fits and you want to replace that with new ones then take what you have to any good bearing shop. In Canada I use Canada Bearing or a place called Motion Bearing. They will just measure the main points and cross reference them to available replacements. I do it all the time and it takes less than 10 minutes. Bearing quality really ranges these days so pay the difference and go with a brand name. You;ll find that going this route will always be cheaper than going OEM. You won't be paying for the expensive parts system overhead of the OEM network. Good luck
