I have some 2/0 battery cables. Are they too big for a 12 Volt CA tractor, or is bigger better?

Bigger wires have less resistance, just like a bigger pipe lets more water flow. Less resistance means it will carry a higher amperage, so bigger the better.

I have 2/0 cables on a 12 volt WD, bigger cables are also safer as they will not heat up as much with higher amps. Only minus is they are harder to bend and shape.

2/0 cables are a bit overkill, but will work just fine. 1 gauge would be the norm for 6V but is a nice step-up for 12V systems. I build my cables in the 1 gauge for both systems. The 2/0 would be real good for the 6V for the amperage factor... Steve@B&B
