How big of back hoe bucket can I use on my 816B. The guy down the road is selling his excavator  for scrap price. Was thinking for buy in the machine and taking the bucket off before shipping it to the bone yard. What are used buckets going for

Would have to be a small excavaror bucket. A 36" would be all the larger I would try to use . Then capacity would have to be small for digging , light material but for general use you have to figure swing as well as lift.

A 20 T machine bucket would be like 5 times the capacity or more of TLB
