While dealing with the D-19 ps pump I also checked into the availability of seal material and a new shafs for the B/C hydraulic cylinders. $35 plus shipping! Check with your friendly neighborhood hydraulic shop or, E-mail me.

That is a pretty good price Ken. If I remember right, when I did the Build a B pump and cylinder, the chrome rod for the replacement was $20. Then I had machine time involved to turn and thread the rod. The packings were about $8 too.

Can I rebild the hydraulic cylinders that are under the rear end on my WD? Where should I go or look for parts?

If the rods are OK, you can more than likely tighten the packings a bit. These are chevron packings and need to let a small amount of oil weep by to keep things lubricated. If you are out of travel on the gland nut, new chevron packings are available from places like Motion Industries. Order by rod size and bore size of gland. You also need to know the stack height.
If the rod is pitted or scarred up it will eat up new packings. I have made my own replacement rods from chrome stock and don't know of off the shelf replacements. |
