Axle Mount Duals on short axle 7045?

I’d like to put axle mount duals on my 7045, however I am not sure if this will work because it has shorter axles? If I can do it id like to have Allis wheel centers to match the inside wheel centers. Does anyone know of a place to find these for 38” tires? I have power adjust rims on the tractor now, but I don’t care if I have those for duals. Thanks!

You cannot use an inner AC cast iron wheel center for the center of a dual wheel on a short axle, so quit thinking about it. An AC cast iron DUAL wheel center (which is dished) won't work either as I believe it needs at least 10 inches of axle shaft to clamp to. Also, they required a long axle and are hard to find as few were ever sold. A typical 9 hole dual wheel hub for a 3 3/4" axle is what is needed, but a short one at that, as I think you only have 6 or 7 ?? inches of axle to work with. A clamp-on dual wheel was the most popular used at that time in farming history and is much easier to find.

The factory cast mexican hat dual center will work, i have them on an 8070 with short axles, the inside wheel has to be all the way in, you will need power adjust rims on duals also, the dual wedges will be flush with the end of the axle and you won't be able to install the snap ring but it will work if you decide to go that route. This is with 20.8x38 tires, if you have 18.4x38 you probably wouldn't need power adjust dual rims.

I have axle duals on my 220 with 20.8 R x 38 tires. Have exactly the same setup as Kevin has on his 8070 using "Mexican Hat" dished cast centers and power shift rims on the duals. All 220's have short axles

Years ago a friend put Mexican hats on a 4w220 with short axles and I remember it being said at the time you need a minimum of 7 inches of axle length to make it work. Could also use 10 bolt dual hubs and 10 bolt rims.

I wrote a story in Old Allis News a few years ago about building this beast. One of my horse and buggy Mennonite contacts who happens to be one of their engine guys told me about this A-C engine that he was getting. It was a power unit for a standby water pump and had 82 original hours showing. All the manuals came with it. Turned out to be a 3500 MK II "On Highway" engine. It has an inline pump, piston cooling, and the same injectors as a 7080. I added the large waterpump and intercooler which necessitated moving the lower rad inlet to the left side and the alternator to the right side.  The rad now has a 7  row core. With factory injector pump settings, it rolls the dyno at 190 hp. It does see field work .

I was going to take the duals off my 7050 and put them away and probably never use them again. Thinking about selling them. The hubs clamp to the axle. 18.4 38. One tire is real good. Other has some cracks in it but lots of life. Tread is 50% plus if interested I might part with them one rim is pretty darn new with an underferth stick still on it
