I think they have a program/website that will do that style of bidding for you.

I generally put my max amount in as leave it as is.

Forget it as once you use any of them, the genie is out of the bottle and they can do anything they want.
After seeing a 180 and a 185 on a name brand auction site I have never used I took a chance and bid on both figuring I just might get lucky and get one of them as they were within decent hauling distance for me.
The 180 closed first and my phone was ringing off the hook with the auction company "telling me" I needed to re-bid or I would lose the tractor. The wording they used was actually comical and it proves the point about just how degrading folks can be when they are hiding behind a phone and "selling".
Can't say I'll never use that site again but there is what I feel is a very young man that is still using "butt salve" after our last discussion.
End result, I ended up with a "peach" for a 185 that I am pleased with, waited a long time for and picked up far below any others I have seen listed for years (for the cost of the new rubber on it).
Guess you have to be either in, or out like any auction.

I'm guessing that was on Auctiontime....they were trying to call me when I was bidding on a tractor a couple of weeks ago. I just let the calls go to voicemail, but it irritated me a little. I was watching the live feed yesterday and following some of the green stuff to see how the bidding took off at the end. I know they tack on time if they get a bid in the last minute, but on some of the popular items they actually added 20 seconds or more a number of times with no bidding! If I had the top bid I would be a bit upset by that! I have a feeling they have monitors watch the popular items and tack on extra seconds to help run up the bid. On one item, the clock had run out for at least two seconds and more time suddenly popped up along with a new bid. I guess, like all auctions you need to set your limit and guard against the head games they play....

Figured someone would figure out who that was and you nailed it Eldon. Yes, seen the clock getting goofy on that site as well.
The irony with this one is when I went up to OK and picked up the 185, the 180 was still there and the seller advised the winning bidder was from Canada and backed out after getting a couple of shipping quotes. Seller said something about not being allowed to re-list it on the site when that happened and tried his darndest to get me to take the 180 for any price.
Had another fella tell me about questioning another on-line site where they "moved" the clock on the live closing in the last minutes. Said they told him it must have been his internet connection acting up as they did not do that . . . .
Buyer beware.

If they allowed them to re-list their items we would see just how much shill bidding is going on!! Best is to set your price and stick with it....I wound up with my tractor $10,000 less than what it was listed on Tractorhouse when I talked to the dealer 2 months ago, so I was happy.

I don't understand Austin's beef with my page. We have simple rules we ask to do to keep the page running. Basically no reserve but put a reasonable starting price that is a minimum of what you'd take. We try to not let people put huge starting prices because it's basically a for sale as, not an auction and defeats the purpose. List a payment type and of there is shipping and cost. Auction ends 24 hours after last bid which is pretty nor!also across all the auction pages. We try to keep chit chat to a minimum to not clog up posts and keep bids from being missed . That's what started all this. I cleaned up a post and he got pissed his posts were deleted. He kept bitching and I asked him to drop it and he decided to be a dick and mock me so I booted him. It would have been a cool off period and I'd have let him back in which we do fairly often but he decided to send me nasty PM's and bash me here. We've had everything from manuals to 2 different D21's sell with minimal issues until this all happened. No one is being forced to be on my site or participate in it. If folks don't like it, dont join. This is getting old.

You are forgetting to mention your buddy Larry Wilson kicked me off the actual allis page because of something I said on a completely different page. I didn't break a single rule on the page, and I can't get a response from uncle Larry as to why I was booted. As for the Ben Lumpy auction page, like I told him, I could care less about that page. I rarely visited the page anyways. It's just BS Larry did what he did and now is being a coward and hiding.

Both the buyer and seller are friends and were traveling together when this auction was happening but the buyer did win the item fair and square. You cite the fact they were traveling together as proof of wrong doing with no other proof to back up your claims.

No one called you a lier and the reason you were removed from the page is the tone and context of your PMs and comments. Maybe we should post those PMs here so everyone can see what really transpired.

Didn't have this happen, but KIND of........
Guy had something for sale.  I said "I'd take it.....want me to send you a check?"  His answer; "Naw, bring the money when you come to get it."......so a couple weeks later, which I told him it would be, I go to get it and low and behold, he sold it!  FOR LESS than I told him I'd give him.  NOW, I really didn't give a rat's arse, but he HAS my phone #.....least he could have done was called me....

Then there's the guys......like me......who just plain forget some things.....(yup Kenny)....and things get away.  That's an .........aw heck moment....... we all forget.... LOL LOL LOL......Cry Cry
I guess a guy should write stuff down.....I ALREADY DO......Now, where'd I put that piece of paper???  Embarrassed Big smile Embarrassed

Ted, after waiting 2 weeks you should have called to check before you drove off.... I see your point, but lots of guys say " I will take it" and never show up. ... First guy with the money normally gets it... unless someone calls and says " I will be there tomorrow at 0900" , then I would not sell to someone the night before, but take his number.
Like them all, but love the "B"s.
