Bought a new belly mower today for my B I'm restoring.  This thing is a monster!  Needs belts, a new wheel, some TLC, and a little welding.  Thanks to David(FL).  I had fun looking over his AC stuff--as always!

Always a pleasure to have you and your Bride over to rummage around in my junkyard!
Next time maybe that JD will start without so much darn hassle so we can spend more time looking and less time trying to get things situated!
What color are you going to paint it?  Can you save or duplicate the Artsway scroll work writing?

David,
I think I'm going to keep it grey.  I found the manual--had to pay though.  I also found a few pics.  We were pretty close on how it gets installed.  Thanks again!

I think I would have waited till Monday and called Artsway, they might have sent it to you for less. Sounded like a good bunch of people up there when I called them, if you ever need parts.

Did Artsway buy out the company that built it?  They bought out Eversman of Denver, Co a few years ago, made levelers and ditchers for irrigation, etc.

I would love to see pictures of this mounted to the B.  Once I get the B hauled home from Ken's I will be making plans for a belly mower.

Thanks David.  I hope you're right.  I will need a few things.  Thanks for everything.  I hope to see you again soon for my next project.   I still like the B under the shed with the mower.

Fixed a couple cracks beginning to form in the deck today.  I also stripped it down for the powdercoater.  In the process, I broke one of the hubs to a spindle.  Dang!  I will try to find a replacement tomorrow.  Spindles seem to turn freely.  Overall, this is a nice mower deck.  Looks like it's been well cared for.

Somebody should have a parts one on here for that hub!  I have a couple for the L306 Woods.
That's part of the trouble of taking those old rusted on ones off.... I have broken 2 of them doing that....

Art's Way bought SunMastr quite a ways back.  I have a 60" SunMastr deck on my C with most of the original decals intact.  I made a set of caster wheels for it, it originally just had skids on the sides, okay for flat hard ground but no good with humps and/or turns.  Found on on line sales catalog and copied the optional caster setup.
Looks like you just broke the bushing that mounts the pulley to the shaft.  Shouldn't be hard to find, Dodge Bearing, Woods (pulleys and bushings, not the mower company).  Just measure up the bushing carefully and take it to a place that sells bearings/belts/pulleys.  Industry is more or less standardized, so you should be able to find a replacement easily.
cheers,
Creek

Finally got the mower deck back from the powdercoater today.  It looks really good.  I was able to get a new wheel and other parts from Art's Way.  Even the underside looks new.  I even got new decals!  More to come.

Hub looks like a QD adapter, might want to look at them for replacements.

well she is purdy but I have to ask, why powder coated? Any of the trailers up here look terrible after 2-3 years, stuff seems to chip off, then scabs, then whole sections peel away. I'm think a 'bush hog' ain't living a easy life and the PC won't be strong ?

I did one last fall in good old red enamel, just seems tougher to me and easy to touch up.

jus wondering.....

Hey Jay. I'm not sure Hub has actually gotten any of his equipment dirty, much less, God forbid - scratch it!

Sorry Hub, but the mower is looking great!

Hervey is correct.  I doubt it will see any work until I sell--which I don't see happening.  You have to realize that I'm city folk with no sense (and no land to work).  I just restore for the fun of it.

Actually, I don't have enough of either--money or time.  I'm also a bit short on common sense.

Think what you might, I see plenty of common sense whenever I get the chance to meet up with you. Plus you had sense enough not to get on that green tractor train...
Only thing I see you lacking is enough space to keep all of them along with the ones you need to acquire, lol!
