Went to a farm sale in central Illinois yesterday.  The star of the sale was a 1971 A-C 170 gas, narrow front.  About 4700 hours and good overall shape except for the front rims.  One front tire was leaking fluid.    Spirited bidding resulted in a sale price of $7800.  The disappointment of the sale was a Gleaner F, gas, with 15 ft. head.  It was running but brought only $475.  Looked like a straight old combine.  A 1976 7060 power shift in average to below average condition with about 4500 hours brought $7000.  Good straight old tractor but needs tires all the way around.  Looked a bit weathered in spite of a nice machine shed on the farm.  The filters hadn't been changed in so long they were rusty.  Oil was black.  That was a common problem on both tractors and both combines.  A Gleaner M2 diesel with a six row corn head brought $5000.  Good straight old combine.  Possibly the bargain of the sale if somebody needed a second combine.  Went to Wisconsin.  A 3 point hitch 3 bottom plow in very good condition brought $500.  It looked like all of the equipment had been sitting inside for a few years.

Cool.  I enjoy auctions, especially when there are A-C items to look at!
