 It's a rigid 21' head, haven't ran anything else so I don't know how it compares... Works good for me

Havent ran a macdon. Couple neighbors run them on other color machines. Havent seen them do any better job than our gleaner draper. We run an early 9250, they say they get even better with newer models.

I haven't used this L3 with the stock head, so I can't really compare but I've done a fair bit of lodged grains with it and like how it feeds.

On harvest we ran MacDons. All the harvesters I know say the Gleaner headers are junk if you’re putting a big number of acres/hours on them, something about the way the angles of the driveshafts and CV joints are causes them to shake themselves apart.

Creston, you ae correct about the 9250 shaking itself apart. I had to weld up the crop divider frames again this year. I think this is the 5th year for our 9250, and it has given us a fair amount of trouble, but i would never ever ever go back to an auger header. The feeding is much smoother, but when there is a wad of soybeans it seems to feed into the feederhouse slower than the auger heads used to. Much less plugging. Less crop loss. You can start earlier in the morning and go later at night. Much more adjustment for various field conditions including on the go sickle weight adjustment and tip back. The drives have given us trouble also and hopefully they have ironed that problem out on the 9255.

What was done to make it fit? Bish plate to a John Deere throat kit i assume?
