just curious of the ways and means to achieve a reasonable/acceptable ride w/o tossing people out of the vehicle. Looking a building a parade float of a boat, and as it proceeds down the parade route, behind the tractor looks to be riding the waves.

I think i would do 1 or 2 wheels... not all 4.. that would get more violent movement.
Like them all, but love the "B"s.

Ya, i was thinking offset wheel centers, just dont know how many wheels and how much. Also was considering splayed axles to get a more wave like motion, rather than the up and down motion that would result from the both under center (assuming a boat trailer rather than a wagon). If I use a wagon chassis I am thinking the wheel offsets would be opposing, front to back. I guess at some point I will just need to start cutting and welding and see what happens.

I think I would start with one wheel and add another if one wasn't enough

The speed of tow would have a lot of effect also .
Had some wide tires on dump truck front axle that were out of round , low speed could hardly notice it but around 40 MPH got lot of up and down motion - then seemed to steady out higher speed , empty was a real ride some times , loaded it smoothed out .
Seems getting wheels timed so same motion was not at same time would be another problem . Then putting centers OFF Center with a hard lean might change action also , hard on tires but what to heck all for fun

Have a extra wheel underneath hidden, maybe a steel bar hinged to the rear axle and a hub at the other end for the wheel to mount on. On the other side of the extra wheel have a bar welded off center extended past the hub grease cap. Pivot another bar up to your "boat" so as your drive along it will rock the boat. Being hinged at the rear axle would allow you to lift the extra wheel up off the ground so the boat doesn't rock when traveling at higher speeds to/from the parade.

the Shriners have them, they had someone cut the center out, and re-weld it back on just off center, don't take much.
