With a rubber lip type seal? For a front spindle on a WC. Not going to be a work tractor, making a puller out of it, and wondered if anyone ever tried taking the felt dust seal and putting a rubber lip seal in to help keep the grease from oozing out. I know in a field environment, the rubber seal would probably get eaten in a hurry but I thought it might help to keep the front hubs cleaner on a show tractor. Just thinkin.

Chuck - The grease should not ooze out. If you pack the bearings, you should not need to grease them with a gun. Too much grease will only ooze out. My 2cents.

I replaced the bearings and seals on my nf D-17.I packed bearings by hand and have not had any problems with new rubber seals leaking grease out yet.The old felt ones were leaking pretty bad.Someone put entirely too much grease in last time.I will check and repack every couple years to make sure the new bearings are keeping their grease.
