anybody use valspar restoration series paint?

   How did it spray? How was the finish? Did you use hardner?  If you dont use a hardner, do you think you can spray clear laquer over it  after it cures to keep a nice shine?

	By the lack of posts to your question you may be the first on the forum to try Varspar Restoration Series paint. From experience with regular Valspar Industrial Gloss enamel clear base (tinted to match PPG 60080) with hardener, it does pretty well. I did however have a problem with a gallon that sat on the shelf tinted for over a year. Tiny beads of material formed in the paint that were so small they passed thru the paint strainer. I do remember having this problem with other ALKYD enamels that set around and it ruins the paint for a perfect sprayed finish. I recently posted some pictures of a 38 B I painted where I used Valspar Alkyd as a first coat of orange on the everything but the seat frame and back, tool box, gas tank, hood, and grill. I let it cure out good and dry where I could lightly sand the pics off and finish coated the chassis with PPG OMNI with Hardener. A great gloss resulted. I would rather go this route than than try to get a shine with any clear coat lacquer Caution! Do not try to spray KRYLON over Valspar Alkyd Enamel. It will attack the enamel like paint remover. Been there and done that on some parts I had that were painted for the Build A B project. I ended up stripping all the paint off and starting over from scratch with KRYLON because the project required it.

	I have used Valspar restoration with hardner on three tractor projects 2 AC 1 IH the past 2 years have been satisfied with it seams to keep the gloss so far but these tractors are stored inside will try a picture of my last project.

	I have used it 4 or five times ,Its not a bad paint you need to reduce it out a little to get it to flow but it shines out nice and does not seem to chalk up.It does chip a little easy but most do these days. I have used the ppg omni alot and that also chips but it it easy to use .I have changed over to delfleet essential and found that to be a very nice paint and does not chip very easily .The farmall and the D12 are done with the valspare paint

	the restoration seies is corperate orange not persian. It would be used on 7000 6000 and 8000 series allis's. Would not be corret for a D series or WD.

	I have used it! but not on any tractors. I used it on a planter I restored and I thought it was great! Shiniest planter around LOL!

	I wrote a note to Valspar when the restoration series first came out asking what shade of AC ORANGE was it in there restoration series paint. I reminded them that there were in fact 3 distinctly different shades of orange used by Allis Chalmers over time. Needless to say I never got a reply and I refuse to use the AC Orange in the restoration series because I only RESTORE Pre 1960 Allis Chalmers Tractors and Equipment.
