My front yard, about 10 acres, is a grass field. Been cutting it with a brush hog the last couple years. No protruding rocks, but a couple ditches to cross(with rocks in the bottom) and a couple swales. What happens if the mower does hit a rock or digs into the dirt? I'm lazy and have not tried to research it on the internet.........thought I'd ask here first. :)

Why is there never time to do it right the first time, but always time to go back and fix it?

It will wreck it. we used to use flail mowers because it would make grass hay very soft and cows loved it. but.. you had to be careful around wood chuck holes etc.
