Narrow front?  I like to drive and check for wobble in the front wheels.  Also they seem prone to gas tank leaks, at least to me!  Should have hydraulics.  Good rear tires is nice!  Foot brake conversion is a real plus, but you get used to the hand brakes eventually, if not!

True. Has hydraulics and bolt on rear rims. Did all of the bolt on rims have foot brakes?

Check and see if the brake pins are drilled on both sides of the housing. Makes it alot easier to get out to replace the brake bands. Make sure the intake/exhast is in good shape and the end holes are not broke off. See how much play is in the steering wheel. A little is expected  but more than a fist worth will need looking in to. Great tractor to have around.

All model C tractors had bolt on rear wheels with the rims fastened with excentric clamps
Model C tractors after serial # 5756 (mid 41) had foot brakes.
Check for steering wheel slop, oil leaks, pull oil stick looking for water, and other items mentioned by others.
Great little tractor, lots of power. It's a handy size. Bob
