I'm currently going through some of my late fathers tractors, his 5040 serial number reads 475427. That would make it a late 1980 model.
The question I have is the chassis for some reason is maroon. Would the orange still be Persian #2 ?
It seems no one from west allis sent the memo to Universal Tractor about the color change in 78.
Thanks for the help.

all 5040's were maroon. The 5045 was a black chassis tractor.
