Looking at a well worn D14 with 400the loader. Tires ok, paint nearly non existing but not rotted out. Needs a radiator and the front axle is pretty much junk and has been repaired. Really tough to steer also. No power steering. Also needs the Power Director adjusted possibly. Seems to slip a bit in low. How hard is the PD to fix? Whats this thing worth? He's asking 1500 obo.

Believe the 400's were trip buckets but I could be wrong. I would be more curious about the hyds.D-14 could only run a trip bucket from factory. A lot of people added hyds by PTO pump or adding one to front. Very handy tractor with 2 way hyds and loader.

cost ; with what you are describing and the work it needs I would say 1000.00 , loader is worth something but radiators are not cheap and PD can add up also depending what is wrong

Was thinking 500 but sounds too low

400 series loaders are fully hydraulic with a front drive pump. If the loader is not bent and welded up, I'd say the value of the package is in the loader not the tractor.
Nothing is impossible if it is properly financed

400 Series loaders have 2  lift cylinders with 'down pressure'  and 2  'double acting' cylinders on the bucket.

Complete loader could be worth a $1,000 by itself if it was in decent condition.

How bad is the radiator, can it be repaired?   When mine got "eaten" last year on my D15, I was happy to find a good used one for 250, as recoring my old one was gonna cost 350.   I would see if he would let you take the side cover off of the power director and look at where the shims are.   If there is alot of shims in the high and low side, it might just need some adjusting.   If most of them are already in the middle, you are now talking about splitting the tractor and finding another good used PD clutch or rebuilding yours and that's not gonna be cheap.
