Cry A-C itself officially turned out the lights and locked the gates to the West Allis plant on January 29, 1989 - closing out a very long and storied chapter in American industrial history.

That is sad, :\ My fiancee lives about 4 blocks down from the West Allis Works. I had the opprotunity to go down to the old plant and take pictures this weekend. I will be putting together a little story about it. :)

To think of all the time I spent in Milwaukee with my Great Grandparents and my Great Uncle and I never even went near it.  Alas....
Of course I have lived in La Crosse all my life and I have never been on the G. Heileman Brewery tour either...
