The advertisement says parts for the Allis G are getting very difficult to find. That's because they don't come to this forum to purchase parts for their G. They need to git' their S*#* together!  LOL!  Not only do the members here have parts we sell on here for a G, we sell a whole darn G to if they want!   Thumbs Up

I wonder what makes the Tilmor so heavy?  More than double the weight of the G.

It sure isn’t cool looking like the G is. Just like all the other modern tractors out there. I will take simplicity and durability over electronics any day. How many of those new tractors of any brand will be around in 50 plus years?

Based on my experiences with an 8N plowing and moving snow 22 hp in the weight of an AC G would cause the drive tires to do more tillage than propulsion, e.g. spinning under load.

You could buy a whole bunch of G's and their "hard to find" parts for $20,000!

It reminds me of the guys  a bit north of me trying to make/sell electric riding lawn tractors. They sunk a HUGE pile of cash into it, only made 2 or 3, sold 1. Their price was similar.Actually I could buy 2 or 3 gas riders for their price !
I told the guy, you should have contacted me  earlier( he called about the electronics...) as I'd already figured out the ONLY way to make an electric rider is to take a gas one and modify. Heck even me doing that was less than 1/2 their selling price ! Seems Cub Cadet have an electric..so I've been told...

For the 15K, I'd expect a hydrostatic tractor. Yeesh 22HP..ANY rider has that these days. As for ground speed, use a 'bull gear' setup, eezy-peezy. The trick with reinventing the mousetrap is to use regular, available parts and 'open' features than can capture a BIG portion of the market,FAST before the guy next door does.

yeesh.I just checked their G toolbar $$$ !!! Yikes. $145 for the adapters, $140 for the bar. I got 2, 8' bars sitting here 1/4" thick collecting dust. Too dang heavy for trailer frame.Be nice if they found a 'good home' before they find my toes...

They should have literally made a copy of the G with some new features with hydraulic lift if that's what they wanted rather than making it more expensive with a re-design and coming up with something close that weighs twice as much and is the ugliest thing ever made.

Thinking about this Tilmor thing, trying to re-invent the G....I saw advertised once a company that made a modern-day small pull type combine somewhat similar to an All-Crop 72, only a straight through machine, and it cost about $10-15,000 as well. I thought, "Wow! I could go buy 15 or 20 All-Crops for that much!!!"

As far as a more feasible reproduction goes, it seems the "Oggun" (O-goon, I think is how you say it) is better. Smaller, looks more like a G, uses common off-the-shelf parts, but is still priced about $12,000.

A friend of mine has a "Tuff-Bilt" tractor, and he let me run it a little bit once. I like the hydrostatic transmission. It reminded me so much of sitting on my G, yet I didn't have to shift gears! It was a decent little tractor, but I could tell it was still built quite a bit lighter than my G.

This isn't quite that, but its close.  They even call it "a modern version of the Allis Chalmers G".

I'd go buy a few A-C G's for that kind of money!!  They are still gonna be around in another 70 years....
What happens when their electronics gets wet? Or full of dirt?

You could buy Steve's G and get somebody to craft some quality upgrades to it and still have money left over!!

I got a dumb question guys,,,,,,,just how strong can a "standard fold down" roll bar be??

I've wondered that myself as well, Ted. Seems they wouldn't be that sturdy in a roll over, but maybe I'm wrong.

If I were looking for a good dependable new tractor, I'd probably go with the Oggun, first because it's simple and off the shelf parts, second, because of the mid and rear 3 point hitch.  This is only if I needed a tractor that worked every day all summer.  Of course it would have to be painted orange!  That other tractor won't be available until early 2019, if it comes out at all.

I never have nor will understand ROPS. Needed by LAW on all new tractors, NOT required on ANY ATV. So... if I get killed rolling over a tractor, my widow can sue the tractor mfr because teh ROPS is 'foldable' but when I get killed in an ATV rollover she can't sue ??
As for the G look-a-likes, I can see buying new..anyone fall over the cost of sleeving a G engine ! Sure there's lots around ( I had 3),but I'll lay odds a true  restored G would be close to a new 'clone'.
I just had a quick look at the oggun, interesting story behind it. the use of 3pt is great opens HUGE market...and price for their implements is AFFORDABLE. That goes a long way to making sales.
