You can use about any gear lube you want including the hytran fluid that guys use with hydraulics. If you have an unrestored tractor that might tend to weep hytran fluid because of old gaskets etc., use a 80-90 gear lube.

When we sold them they came from the factory with 140 Gear Lube.  However, in very cold climates it was proved that it was not efficient lubrication since the oil would freeze.  I agree with Charles.  Use 80 wt gear oil.
Take good care of my favorate.
Good Luck!

Both the B and C  Allis manuals call for 20W year round. 6 qts (7 with PTO).
Change oil twice a year.
I think "Hy-Tran" would be a good choice in place of 20W motor oil.

Tim, if you don't have any problems with "wally world" some of their stores carry hy-tran in 7 qt jugs.  I have it in my B and CA.  Local stores quit carrying it down here but when I was at the GOTO at Gray, Tn in the spring I was in a Wal-mart store and on a hunch checked out the  oil area and lo and behold there it was on the shelf.  Picked up 1 for a spare.
