I grew up to KRVN, Lexinton, NE. At night they had to turn the "westerly directional" antenna on, so as to not cross talk with some Chicago station I think. The day they I could no longer get Paul Harvey was the day I basically quit listening.

Those stations were great in their day, but alas things went to FM and now that is dying too. I like to listen to old country on WWIS radio, 99.7 on FM. You can get it too on the computer. Depending on the time and the day, you can get music back to the 40s and up to the 80s.
I remember sitting in my Mom's 54 Chevy at night listening to KAAY, Little Rock. That radio was nothing BUT an AM. What year did the AM/FM radios come out in those old Chevy's? |
