Am I missing something here

   I was at a seed farm yesterday, picking up some field pea seed, and the guy has a couple of D 17's around the place for auger tractors and such. Naturally they caught my eye, and resulted in a little orange conversation. Anyhow, one of the D 17's has the metal "Allis Chalmers" emblems on the hood side panels, and the owner said that he had a trucker come to his place one time and made a huge deal out of that. The trucker told him that the D 17's with the metal emblems are very rare, and couldn't believe that this guy would leave a tractor that valuable sit outside. That was a new one to me, because if they are that rare, I could be sitting on my retirement. Anything to that.....? Thanks, Darrel

	All D-17 series II had the metal name plate. Not rare at all, but people do take the name plate off and put decals on.
