I thought they had a UM engine, thought that's why they called it a UM engine.

In swinfords const book it says the w stood for wider track stance for working on hills

The W is for wide track and it is a UM engine, same as in the U and UC tractors. Nice looking dozer.

Yes, the previous posts are correct.  I have a M crawler and the serial number starts with WM.  Thanks.

Nick, I would say prices would range from salvage value to about $3,000 for a nice one without a dozer.  They weigh about 6,000 pounds.  An average would probably be about $1,500.

That value is about spot on, I have bought and sold several of these all within a couple hunded bucks of that fifteen hundred amount.

I thought about buying that last fall but passed. I think I offered the guy 800.00 bucks. He was firm on 1500.00 at the time. if that's not the same dozer, I'd be shocked.
