I haven't had much luck finding examples of installing an alternator on a G without cutting the rear engine cover.
Has anyone installed an alternator without modifying the rear engine cover?

if size is the issue... how about one of those small alternators; like Denso, or a Kabota unit https://www.amazon.com/OUTPUT-ALTERNATOR-STREET-HOOKUP-WARRANTY/dp/B00BP0W9AI/ref=br_lf_m_82annu2ancpt4mu_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&s=automotivemight find a usable one off an import from a U-Pull-It yard

I've seen them for $49. Once you festoon the name Kubota onto it the price doubles. Google "mini alternator" and see what comes up. You don't need a 70 amp alternator. A 35 amp job would be plenty for a G.

The "CS" 121 fits the bill quite well on the G as well as the C & CA. That's the one I use on our 12V Conversion kit for the little G. Fits in there nice like Joe's pic. We also offer the Denso which I change to a 3 wire for the Tractors. HTH
