I have an old Allis Chalmers forklift that is who knows how old, I'd guess some where in the 1970's. It looks just like an ACC 30 in the pictures so I'm guessing that's what it is (It has a 3400 lb lift capacity). it's a LPG inline 4 motor.

The problem I have is I believe there is a short in the wiring somewhere and now it's sat for a few months with someone left the key in the accessory position, so now the battery's completely dead. I may need a new one. There is absolutely NO lettering indicating what type of battery it is besides it may be the wrong one.

I cannot find what kind of battery this may need. 6v? 12v? cca? Anyone have any suggestions?

If you still have the old dead battery, take a picture with your cell phone, then take it to your friendly neighborhood battery store, and ask them to match it up.  If not, it is most likely a 12 volt anyway, if it comes from that era.  A group 24 will likely start it.
