I have an Allis Chalmers (Fiat) 5050 with lift problems.  The hydraulic pump appears to work fine, the control valve has been disassembled & cleaned with new orings. I can "pump" ( lift and lower lift arms) and they will stay up, but slowly come down, but I can NOT get the "lift" lever to function.  Any help gratefully accepted, my current frustration level very high.

Have you put a psi gauge on the line?

Short answer is no.  A Allis Chalmes mechanic told me as long as there is some fluid flow, that shold be enough to lift the arms .  And I know there is fluid to the control valve.
