I'm curious to see if anyone has any pictures of any of the old allis chalmers dealerships in Maine. I am 30 minutes away from a former allis chalmers dealership in waterville it was called McCormick and son's. There was another dealer in Farmington butterfields implements and another allis chalmers dealership down in Portland that sold construction equipment. I'm unsure of the name of the heavy equipment dealer. Any pictures or knowledge on any of the dealerships would be interesting I haven't found much online.

Eastern Tractor was the AC construction equipment dealer in Portland. They were in business for a time into the Fiat/Allis era, I don't remember just when they dropped out. They dropped, or were dropped, the Fiat Allis line before they finally closed a few years after if I remember right. I am thinking Eastern may not have been the original company, but don't remember right now.

Hammond Equipment Company, Auburn was an Ag dealer (closed and sold site to Hammond Tractor. Hammond Tractor (now United Ag & Turf) built a new facility on the site of the old Hammond Equipment shop and some of the Hammond Farm's fields.) Dorr's in Bangor was another ag dealer as well. if I remember right.

ac89, I bought my first Allis, a '41 B, from Hammond in Auburn. This was about 1980 and they were just about out of being a dealer. There were several Allis dealerships in Central Maine. Littlefields in Corinna, next town east of me. There is a lot of orange around in this area and I have to think it's because of them. Dealership burned (do not know when) and is now an auto salvage yard. There was a dealership in Benton (Fernald Implement) and the building is still there. I bought an assortment of NOS parts from the current owner of the real estate several years ago and he loaned me an aerial photo of the dealership, taken when it was running and showing several new tractors. I had a copy made.

Down in Southern Maine there was a Allis dealer named Brackett and Shaw who at one time employed all kinds of people. Still open as a one man repair shop with allis expert Gary. He has all kinds of memorabilia that he would be happy to show you I bet.

I have a loader for a b that says brackett and shaw on it. That's cool I'll have to look into that. I would really like to find a picture of the dealership that was in waterville that's where most of the allis chalmers tractors my family farmed with came from. Ive tried looking online with no luck surely there has to be a picture or 2 somewhere. My last option is the historical society. Thanks for the info.

I'm thinking a lot of dealers sold other brands besides AC's such as Minni Mo and Oliver, a lot also sold New Idea and/or New Holland.  Seems like the JD and IHC dealers didn't sell as many side brands, maybe something in their contract.
A potato growing friend in Maine, Jim Gerritson, seems to be trying to corner the market on Olivers, it's all they use on their place.

My grandfather Clayton Albee was from Norridgewock Maine. He was a distributor for Eastern States GRAIN in the fifties. It became Agway and he had a style WC AlLIS Chalmers and a 1954 WD45 wide front Allis Chalmers. Does anyone From that area remember him? Eastern States distributorship?

Thank you very much for the reply. I have already mentioned my Grand father had a styled WC And a WD45 that he probably bought from your great-grandfather's dealership. I have interest in AC tractors and I have collected a few.I live in Orlando, Florida, so they're not as prevalent down here and in the South as in the North. But thank you for the reply.Dwight
