	Yes, Norm Swinford's Allis-Chalmers Construction Machinery & Industrial Equipment. C.H. Wendel's book, the Allis Chalmers Story has some construction equip, but Swinford's book has more.

	Both books are good but the AC Const Equip book demands a high price now . Have seen it listed for big $$$.

	I had no idea those were that hard to find. We bought a couple cases of them on clearance for like $9 each years ago. To bad they are all long gone now. Setup an alert on ebay, I bet you can get one for less than that.

	I knew they were up in price , mine was $35 when I bought it and last time i checked they were asking $250 to $275. Ah yes gold setting in the bookcase !

	I don't understand why they can't go back in print. Maybe there is some law or maybe it costs too much. I'd think maybe, if that's the case, Norm could put up a pre order and I'm sure there'd be takers. I'd like a copy or two myself.

	I own Norms construction book, the MAG book by Neil Yerigan, and the Nebraska Tractor Test book, all of which are now out of print. Its funny someone posted this as I was going though one of my books last night and it dawned on me tha I own 3 out of print books.

	Byron It is a question of "Rights". If Mr. Swinfords' rights have reverted to him as the author, I could set him up with a "Print on Demand" low volume production run from one of my suppliers. It would raise the price of the book somewhat, but nowhere near the prices listed above. Perhaps he just doesn't want to go through the trouble, or perhaps the previous publisher has retained the rights. There is no longer a reason for a book to go out of print if the author does not want it to happen. It is just a question of negotiating the deal up front. The latest printing technology is simply AWESOME!!! Glenn

	I'm glad I bought all of my A-C books when they were released (except Condie's books, Peterson's Industrial Heritage, and Huxley's 1983 "pocket" book which I bought later). I remember thinking that Wendel's book was expensive at $29.99 in 1988-89! I'm tracking some of the other Crestline books from that era right now. Be prepared to shell out a few bucks. I was lucky to find Yerigan's book several years ago (they have gone up considerably since then).

	Glenn, Have you talked to Norm about it? I think I have all of his other books dealing with AC or AGCO and most are signed. I own a CAT dozer/excavator and wanted to get an AC grader. I'd love to have a copy of his construction book but $300 or whatever is too much.

	I bought the Norm's construction equipment book in the AC tent at the Gathering of the Orange in Westminster MD a few years ago and Norm signed it for me on the spot.

	I spoke with Norm a couple months ago and he no longer has any copies of the Construction Machinery book and didnt have any info on a re release.

	I was looking thru books at a local antique shop last year and Norm's construction book was in the pile. I think it was less than $20. I told my wife to wrap it for my Christmas gift. I am usually not that lucky.

	Jan was stuck in the Milwaukee airport for a few hours last fall and found a $19.00 copy in a bookstore there. She didn't know it was out of print, nor all that sought after. She did know I'd paid more that that for mine and would probably like to own another, so she drug it home. Gotta love that woman........ LOL That makes 4 copies on my shelf, two of which are signed and one signed but never opened.

	WOW ! I'm a lucky guy. I have both of Norm's books autographed with a personal note and a picture of him posing in front of my H-3 crawler and TLW loader. I think that I need to get that picture enlarged and framed. I can't imagine this hobby without Norm's books and information.
