Trany says '38 but torque tube with starter says "mixed heritage".
But I'm pretty sure it's still one of Bills's favorites!

acd21man.  A friend had the old style Firestone Ground Grip Tires (turkey track) on his J.D. Model LA. They are in great shape and I talked him into selling them to me so I could have a match to the tires my grandpa had on it in 1942.  Thanks for your post.

Dave, this was  a regular B.  It was my second tractor. IB was first. I liked the IB so much i converted the B to a low rider type. I rolled the rear alxes 90 degrees. I removed the front wishbone alxe and made a straight alxe out of steel plates. I put short pipe section on each end and used the original spindles. You will note the torque tube is off a B, not shorter like the IB... main problem is the steering shaft sets low when you use a B torque tube. Wish it swept up more at the seat end, but it works good. I reused the B fenders as compared to using ID (WD45 type). Had to make a few mods to the fender mounts and seat mount. I bought a Continental 6 ft mower deck and put under it to trim fields. Stays on all the time. I use the IB to switch impleements - blade - plow- disc.

A "B" with a belly mower and plow is my next tractor if I can ever get rid of my basket case D19 for money to buy one.

Beeea---utiful!!!
Thad in AR.  What is a Thomson B? I noticed the front axle rear mount is somewhat different from my 49 B with adj. front. What else?
Thanks to all for sharing your pictures. My tractor is definitely getting some TLC and paint when it warms up!

My dad bought this B with the snap-coupler hitch, still use the disc harrow and moldboard plow. He tended about 5 acres of tobacco up until 1977 when he passed away and thats when she retired to garden duty.I have noticed that alot of people havent seen a B with the independent front and rear hydraulic lifts , they make it really nice cultivating.

Here's my 48' B Ole' Alice before the Henderson Loader was installed. Used her to pull my 4' mower around the property. Now I use the IB. The IB is better under the trees. I don't have to worry bout' knockin' my head off my shoulders. LOL!
