Had a recent trip to San Antonio, TX for work and found this AC motor in the old Pearl Brewery. The motor is connected to some type of York compressor / pump?? Glad to see they saved some AC history. The Brewery complex has been renovated into a shopping, eating and entertainment area.

I think the amps is 25.4, not 254. So it’s more like 236 HP.

Like the compressor, but don't drink the beer. Only the old timers did that around here.

What was the pumps function, perhaps refrigerator pump using ammonia?

most likely an early ammonia compressor that ran almost continuously due to the fact that it's a Synchronous motor probably to help in Power Factor Correction.
