Hi all - I'm in the process of converting my '39 B from hand brakes to foot brakes. I have all the necessary parts to do this except for the two angle iron rails where the fenders mount. I discovered that the rails for the foot brakes have a cutout for the brake rods and also the rings welded where the pedal shaft is supported. I put out a classified ad looking for these parts, but with the size and weight of these things, I suspect they will be pretty expensive to ship. So my question is if an of you are aware of a tractor salvage yard or some individuals in the west central Minnesota area who might have a slavage tractor that I can get these parts from - a person or place within driving distance that I can contact and incquire of parts availability. Thanks much! Kyle Sands <>< Alexandria, MN willys_46@hotmail.com |

stock C supports and B supports are not a match but C supports can be made to work by cutting them down to the correct height for the 39B fenders with the steel tabs to fit over them at the corrected height. If your going to go to all that trouble you may as well notch the old 39 supports and weld the rings on the end. You will probably want to raise the seat frame too or find a tall one off a foot brake B. There is a little more to converting a handbrake B to a footbrake B than meets the eye.

Ken - thanks for the information. My plan for a seat was to find a pan seat (presumably aftermarket) rather than stick with the stock bench seat. A neighbor had a B equipped with a pan seat and it was the slickest little tractor to get off and on. With the bench seat, it's a pain...and I'm only 34.
