Hi i was looking for some input/advice. I have a allis 190xt turbo diesel giving troubles. The tractor will fire right up and run strong anywhere from 2 min. To 10 min at a time then starts to laborand will blow black exhuast smoke then die.if i attempt to restart the starter just clicks, the engine is stuck tight. Let it sit for 20 min.fires right up and does tbe dame thing all over again. Just had the injectors completely rebuild trying to cure the issue. No improvement. It does loose coolant if ran at higher rpms on tmr. No coolant in engine oil but drip some heavy condensation from blow by tube. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Do you have oil pressure? Is that turbo ok? If you have a lot of blow by sounds like a bad piston or rings, but with that the engine should be making some pretty bad noises if they are seizing.

It's getting coolant in the oil, and it has ruined the bearings. Coolant and bearings do not get along. I'm surprised it doesn't knock once it starts back up. Best to quit starting it, and get it torn down before it totally destroys itself, if it hasn't already. Betting it's spun some rod and / or main bearings.

Well...you just don't keep restarting engines that lock up when running.....you tear them down to find out why

Make sure it has the right length dipstick. Dad bought a used 1 owner tractor at a sale, one of the earlier ones. The dipstick was marked wrong, did not have enough oil in the motor. AC recalled them and replaced them with the right 1. Dads did not get recalled and it cost him a motor.

If it's dripping from the blow by tube it's got antifreeze in the oil.   Bought my xt with a bad engine.   Had 2 rod bearings out, could taste antifreeze in the blow by tube. Put a different engine in mine. If you're lucky the crank isn't ruined and you might be able to rebuild yours.   Make sure you find where the antifreeze is coming in.   Most likely o rings on liners.

InjpumpEd has it correct. Could also have antifreeze running down sleeves onto piton skirt, which will cause pistons to seize to sleeve. Time to shut it down. MACK
