Hi experts,
Well with some heat I got the main jet out of my C carb. It is a Zenith 8561. I got a new jet on order. I now need to know what to set the float level and how to set it? Thanks Pastor Mike in Iowa |

In my experience every carb is set close to specs if it is set level. With float attached turn upper housing over and see if float is parallel to the parting surface. If it is then I'll wager its close enough. Actual float level isn't terribly critical. Amount of fuel in the bowl varies by a number of factors, like engine vacuum, discharge tube orifice size, ambient pressure and grade. This can be seen with a clear tube attached to a fitting in the bottom of the bowl and run up beside the carb to see running level. It can vary greatly from preset float level.
