So the original tie rod is not adjustable to correct steering full left and right. I’ve taken the front spindle on and off several times in effort to correct. I’m thinking of making my own tie rod and installing new ends. Both ends will be right hand threads just so I can get equal left to right steering. Once set doubtful it will ever need adjusted. Am on the right track ?

I walked away for a while and came back and it lined up. I’ll take it.

Narrow front so only one tie rod. My disappointment to see the sector shaft on front spindle never had a bronze bushing. I packed with grease and drilled and added zerk fittings on steer box and front spindle. I’m not trusting oil won’t run out coating front wheels etc. I can’t be the only one to switch from oil to grease.

Dan, i think the teminology has effected the posts we gave.. The NARROW front had no "tie rods"... those go from the gear box steering arm to EACH WHEEL.. On a narrow front, there is only one rod going from the front gear box to the gear box under the gas tank. AS HUD said, ALLIS calls that a "drag link" and it was a fixed length.... and YES, the front end part wear and regular oil will leak out.. Some use corn head grease and some use tube grease as the "fix".
