hey guys, I have an allis B tractor id like to build a little for pulling. I have a D14 engine. I was wondering what it would take for the crank and the cam to fit into the B engine. Or what it takes just to swap the whole engine out. Also do the heads & valve covers interchange?< ="text/" ="safari-extension://com.ebay.safari.myebaymanager-QYHMMGCMJR/cdae7efa//helpers/preHelper.js">

The easy thing is swap the complete engine. There is not much that is a direct interchange. Primarily the mains on the D14 crank are much larger, along with the D14 has the thrust bearing at rear whereas the Block has the thrust bearing at the front. However there is a lot you can to the B engine without spending loads of bucks. Where are you located? Send me a direct Email if you want to know more; the1orangewizard@gmail.com

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |

I put a D14 engine in the B that I lowered for mowing.
These are what I remember: 1. You need to use the B flywheel and clutch (D14 flywheel is too big for the B torque tube). 2. The 4 studs in front of the D14 engine for the radiator support and axle support are bigger, need to drill out the support holes. 3. The manifold is bigger so neither the B or D14 air cleaner will fit, need to fabricate one. 4. Water outlet/thermostat housing different, need to relocate water temp gauge. 5. For the hood, the muffler hole is slightly different, the oil cap hole in a different spot, as mentioned air intake/air filter in a different spot, temp gauge hole not needed. May be others I have forgotten but nothing that can't be overcome. First picture is the D14 engine being installed in the lowered B. Second picture is the finished project, I've been mowing with it for over 2 years, works great. ![]() Edited by wbecker - 31 Jan 2016 at 1:11pm |

Chris, One more thing I thought of, you need to use the B radiator and fan.
