Topic: Allis 6080 cork gaskets - retighten? And dipstickPosted: 25 Sep 2022 at 8:11pm |

I am finishing a rebuild that was started by someone else (they unfortunatly passed before all the work was done). I have been torquing bolts where oil has been leaking to spec.
Do the cork gaskets "seat", and require retorqing? Specifically the valve cover, oil pan, and front cover. I torqued all of these to spec., and most of the oil leaks stopped. I noticed a little oil around the pan while I was getting the stearing cylendar off. My question is should I keep retorqing these? Do cork gaskets "seat"? My second question is is there a good after market heat to add to this tractor to help cold starting. Oil dipstick heater, or something else? Just got some electricity near the machine. Thanks for the help! Thanks all!

Must be a cheep gasket set. Only cork gasket is valve cover.
Get bolt set for 8000 series valve cover and torque once. MACK

Thanks Mack. I'll see what I can do. Any thoughts on cold cranking after market heater?

Factory block heater just above the starter. Look for the cord.

Cord unplugs so it can be replaced, it may have been removed if your not seeing it.

I don't see the heater at all. Where would I get one of these?

It is located directly above the starter, a "cats-eye" shaped plate bolted to the engines block. It has a 1/2" tube welded to it that crosses over behind the block to the oil filter area on the other side. If there is no electrical connection on the cats-eye plate, you don't have a block heater. AGCO is the only place I know of to get one, if they still have them.

Theres a place in PA- Country Side Tractor , or something like that- has a kit for this - or get one for the One Eighty, 190 , etc then drill out a passage toward the back and hose it to the oil cooler with fittings etc
