I just got back from Wisconsin with my new to me AC 445 loader. It has the front pump, separate hydraulic valve and all the stuff to mount on one of my WD45s. Considering how much better it would be over a trip bucket loader, I can't imagine why I have not seen more of them. I can't wait to get it mounted and using it. Does anyone else on the forum have one or know of them. Thanks. Michael

Yes Michael, the 400 series loader is a far cry from the old trip bucket. I have one on a D15 II works great. The unique thing on the 445 loader is that the pump hides right between the crankshaft pulley and the front bolster, cant even see it once installed, I would think for best results power steering would be a real plus on the 45. Sure makes a difference on a D15. Still with that being said my favorite is the D17 Ser III IND. with the TS 1000 loader and the shuttle shift.

Rich, the tractor I am thinking of putting it on has factory power steering, but I will have to weld the disc in it. Dave I will take a picture next time I am out to the farm, but it has a bracket that has two braces at 90 degrees that bolts to the bottom of the frame rails and positions the pump right in front of the crank pulley; you have to remove the hand crank to make room; then all you would have to do is plumb in a resivoir and a valve bank.

3 WD45's with power steering,G,D15 fork lift,D19, W-Speed Patrol, "A" Gleaner with a 330 corn head,"66" combine,roto-baler, and lots of Snap Coupler implements to make them work for their keep.

Michael... I just sat down to mail you to see if you got it yet. I am going to be in SE WI and later in KC. Glad it is home. I have a 415 and is handy, but the tractor is a little to light for what I need. The 500 series on the 180 is perfect for my needs. The 500 came with a heavy blade also....Dale

My neighbour has a 415 loader on a D-15 II that he converted to a shuttle after I showed him how the shuttle worked on my I-60. That was in 1976 and his son still uses the unit. He also bought a new 445 loader for his WD-45 and his other son still has that unit. Good machines. Good find Michael !

I have a WD45 with the 445 loader, love it. Definitely needs loaded rear tires. To drive the front pump, a drive plate is welded into the front crankshaft pulley, and Mack is right, check that setscrew every time you use it.

I have a chance to buy a AC 445 loader locally ,and I dont know if it will fit my AC 17 Series 4..If it does do I have to use front pump.,or can I use my tractor hydrolics? The loader is on a
AC I400 now.. they want $1000.00 for loader.. please let me know what you think..Thanks.

While I think the 400 or 500 series will fit most any tractors, with the exception of the back sections of the frame that bolt on and are different for various models, I think the 445 frame is narrower adn will not fit the other tractors. I know the frame on my 445 is different from my 519 but I never measured.

To answer dishtech, you can use that loader on your 17 without the front pump. I had a 445 loader on a WD-45 for about 15 years it scraped freestalls twice a day. After that, I put it on a 170 (without the front pump or control valves), and scraped somemore.
Although it's been 25 years since I switched it to the 170 and my memory may be bad, I think the loader frame is the same for both tractors.
