Looking for information on how best to troubleshoot power steering on a 160. Already done the obvious like check the tank to insure plenty of fluid available, pump drive belt is in good condition and tight. Have also researched the service manual but have not found information concerning what is best to check first and how to best test. Unit was functioning properly and after sitting for about one hour it was not. Can still drive the tractor but is now hard to steer. Front spindles are in good condition and well lubricated. No visible oil leaks. that would signal a broken hose. Suggestions ?

Has the power steering reservoir filter been changed? The power steering has it's own reservoir.
Sounds like the belt is not slipping.
I would check the pump pressure per the manual.
