I have a TO448, having trouble finding a rebuild kit for it. I have found “TO4” rebuild kits I’m not clear if that will work??

Take it apart before you buy a kit. Most of them, you cannot get them apart. Bolts twist off, heat shield sticks in exhaust housing, ect. Go buy one already rebuilt.      MACK

I've always wanted to go to a rebuilder and see how they can get them apart......6 twisted off exhaust bolts and then it's still stuck together !!!

If you are thinking about "rebuilding" because of some looseness in the shaft?? that's the way they are !!!!... they have floating bearings and they are a bit sloppy. If it ain't leaking oil into the intake manifold, it's probably just fine. Been a while on the Air-Research numbers, but I think a TO-4/48 is from a 190XT ??   Any TO-4 "B" series is a better performing turbo.

Yeah it seems loose, to448 is a 190 turbo. What charger should I put on it? I’ll post a short video if it’ll allow me to.

If it isn't leaking oil, I'd do nothing. A turbo from a 200 is a B series and works nice on an XT.

A TO-4 48 ??? only on a 190XT and probably a model G Gleaner combine. No other brands. Any "B" series turbo from a 200-7000-7010-7020-8010 M-M2-M3 would work on a 190XT.

If I were to buy brand new, is there a charger that would be better to buy, that would be a better upgrade over stock? I farm with it so I don’t wanna get to carried away

Probably most any waste-gated turbo from a 5.9 "B" series Cummins that wasn't rated at over 140 or 150 flywheel HP.

after doing research, an hx or hy 30 sounds like the charger I need. The cheap china turbos are only $150-$200 on ebay, not the quality I want, so i’ll Look for a good used one.
