Just got my eye to where was good to near 20/40 uncorrected and feeling great about it, got a durned sinus infection just at two weeks ago in the biohazard dump of a yard of our neighbor, that has been clearing slowly and feeling good so went after some loose tree limbs I dropped before that last big snow off a Black locust with some smaller Honey Locust and a few cedars yesterday while warm and sunny then today, I wake up my recently repaired eye upper lid is feeling odd, wife said looked like sagging so I go to the mirror. Danged upper eyelid is swollen and the edge is all puffy, then it lights up in my head, pulled a number of vines out with the pile of crap I hauled to the brush pile, call the eye doc. He said sounds like contact dermatitis, likely NOT from the surgery and Not a infection, sent my pharmacy a ointment script. Pharmacist looked and confirmed likely skin inflammation, Frickin Poison Ivy. Man I just cannot catch a break of late!!

With the possible exception of white oak, there ain't nuthin that PI likes better than growin up the side of a black locust!  Too bad you gots now, when there ain't no jewel weed a growin, to cure it!  I remember I plowed up some brushy bottom land, had some milky yellowish, milky roots get a tangled up in the plow.  took as much time to clear that mess outta that plow, as it did, to plow that half acre.  next week, I found out them roots was sumac, my fingers swelled up like ball park sausagages!  Hadda take a round of prednisone, to shrink'em back to reglar size!Wink

i feel for you and I only had it once. I grew up playing in it. But man the time I had it I learned how the rest of you can suffer.

I guess the old saying"no good deed goes unpunished" has got you again.

Wink But I think this is better than what I heard about cataract surgery in the old days. No lifting 10 pounds for few weeks. I was told of a old nieghbor put a piece of wood in his fire an about lost the use of the eye they had worked on the week before. Hope the salve works and you keep from rubbing on it.

Dang, that ain't good at all! Hope the ointment keeps the itching away. Poison ivy around your eyes can be a pain in the rear.

I've never had poison ivy or oak, but I've seen what it does. You have my sympathies with that stuff. We had poison oak on the old barn before it was taken down. That damned stuff just refused to die. 2-4-D would only crinkle the leaves for about a week and then it was back as strong as ever. I even mixed it with diesel once, the stuff just wouldn't die. I finally dumped 2.5 gallon of 2-4-D with 2.5 gallon of Crossbow straight in the sprayer, ran it all and that finally killed the stuff.

If there's any within a mile of mom she is in misery. I seem to be ok with it. I've built fence, plowed it up, mowed it and have very little reaction to it. I hope you gets better ASAP.

that's one thing i'm not allergic to (poison ivy), and when we was clearing out a small area at dad's place, I handed the 2 stockholders a few pieces of the vines while I cut them! worked perfectly! sure hope you find relief and heal fast! just remember, you can't wash that oil outta them clothes you was wearing when you got contact, get rid of them or you'll have it all over again. and also if you burn them, stay outta the smoke. yep can get it again that way too!

At one time was Seriously allergic to PI, could walk 30' around it and get it, then one day found I could rip it out by the hands full and so long as washed relatively soon after all was good, maybe get a blister or two. Here of late if I even look at PI r PO I get blisters, SUCKS!!

Followup visit today, still have a little of it, definite allergic reaction not a worry as the wife considered as to Strep infection in sinus's. That IS happening quite a bit around here so I too was a little worried. All should be good couple of days, KNOCKING on my Wooden Head!!

Man that's tough.  Had it on my face once and had one eye swell completely shut and the other one nearly did as well.

The NOT so funny part of that is I've had guys at work who HAD it there and also under the front end too.  Once you've got the stuff on your hands, you've gotta be REAL CAREFUL where you scratch!!

Ted sounds like your friends at work needed some of that magical maiden oil and didn't know it. Wink
